Yep, exactly. Sony is focusing on 08 because they simply don't have a lot coming out this year. Lair and HS are getting very mixed reviews and it looks like most of their eggs will be sitting in Uncharted's basket this holiday season (actually, this is the only PS3 game that I will definitely buy this year, the rest will probably be rentals). Comparing that to the Halo/Bioshock/Mass Effect trifecta and it's hard to make a case for Sony success this holiday season, at least in NA and parts of Europe (the most important parts that buy a lot of games, at least). Besides, if you've got the games coming out in 07, why bother advertising 08? Remember that 99% of gamers are not forum junkies and they don't follow E3 or press releases. They get their information from TV, newspapers, and magazines, all of which will be concentrating on games arriving in the near future with 08 releases relegated to footnotes here and there. |
agree completely, sad part is xbox will have alot of games like lair etc out as well (eternal sonota, blue dragon, lost odyssey etc) and there are a few titles we dont know much about but could be very good (lost odyssey anyone?)
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.
Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
