you forget the Cell processor. Those bad boys are not cheap

More expensive than Xenon, true, but CPU's normally go down in price quite quickly, when both become cheaper, the price difference becomes smaller too... I think it's more likely that currently MS is making money on Pro and Elite and losing a little on Arcade, while Sony should be even on USA $399 PS3 and earning a little on the EU 399€ one, more than $200 cost difference is very unlikely now.
