Do price cuts early in the year have any significant impact? Most people interested in a console, or on the fence, already purchased one during the holidays and thus console sales are at their lowest levels early in the year. The 360's Euro price cut last March didn't really have a sustained effect. After a month it dropped to near pre-price cut levels. How much does a PS3 cost to produce anyway? I remember reading $400 back in January. If Sony's just barely making a profit or breaking even now, I think it'd be more beneficial for them to wait until late summer for a price cut.
