Why are people surprised by this? Sony is already taking huge losses with every PS3 sold. They can't even afford to sell it at its current price; they certainly can't afford to sell it for less. Depending on who you ask, they might not even be able to sustain the the damage inflicted by PS3's current price for all that much longer; they certainly can't go any lower and take even more damage.

This is why I worry about the PS3. A price cut very well might be able to turn the PS3's fortunes around. But Sony won't do it, and they won't do it because they CAN'T do it. Not until it sells more, at any rate, but it won't sell more until the price is cut, and so the cycle continues.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
