seriously now, was that a joke?
i know the ps2 WW numbers are shown better now, but still top out at 110mil for some reason [unless the x-axis dates just dont stretch far enough]
but even with that the ps2 was only out in japan for the first [was it 7 months?] of it's life.
so Japan versus Japan+America and the ps3 was still selling slower... add Eu/Pal and it catches up, but still sells slower after that... so 7 months for ps2 in japan selling more than 7 months for ps3 in japan+America+3 months of Eu.
i was just pointing that out btw, otherwise i actually think ps3 is/will be a success... sales wise it is a success now, in numbers it is doing probably about average at the moment compared to other consoles, but that's with a big price-tag. [look how badly other high priced consoles did]
in profit it certainly isn't a success now, but i can see Sony managing to turn that around and at least break even [whether breaking even is success i don't know]
as for it's penetration of blue-ray, id say thats a success too.
