I never understood the excitement of that. I mean if a sports team beats another team and somebody comes on and is all like "Yeah, such and such team wins the title!!" I get it, because that's an actual event. But when it's written into the script ahead of time, it becomes kind of wierd. I mean how many topics are there to the effect of "Yeah!! GOKU FINALLY BEAT FRIEZA!!!" or "HOUSE FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHY THAT GUY WAS BLEEDING FROM HIS RECTUM!! GO HOUSE!". I mean isn't it just the conclusion of a story board?

Not that I'm saying a person shouldn't be, I love it when House finds the cause of rectal bleeding. But often times people approach it with the enthusiasm of real events occuring. And that baffles me.

It's because wrestling mimics sports, not TV shows. It promotes having favorites and rooting for them to win. Everyone knows it's staged, but you still don't usually know the outcome. Plus different wrestlers have different personalities and fighting styles, so there is differentiation. It's more along the lines of wanting to see your favorite in a preferable situation where they get more time and more prestige matches, and less that you think they actually beat someone and are more skilled than the next guy is.
