I believe this is a direct attack from IGN towards Nintendo
I agree, and that's absolutely ridiculous. It's not the job of game reviewers to shape and mold the game industry.
IGN writers, especially Matt, are tired of reviewing games. They want to be developers. Every other article is,
"How Developers Could Make Animal Crossing Deeper"
or
"How developers should use the Wiimote for Aiming"
or
"Buy this game in order to influence publishers"
IGN, by their own admission, hold very little sway in consumer's minds, so they're just screaming their disdain for Wii into the black hole of gaming forums.
I wish they'd can their agenda and review games. If a game is decent, don't trash it because it's a symbol of a gaming style you hate. If a game is mediocre, don't praise it because you hope there will be better versions of it someday. We just want honest reviews, not agenda pushing.
