Usually MCV have a double issue the week before Christmas, so I don't expect another update until week 52.

You can see the retail price wars in full effect here, value only increased slightly, but units increased by a far larger margin. I don't think Japan can come anywhere close to that many units, so UK probably passed Japan for year to date unit sales this week. The only question is, can Japan make it up in week 52? I think it's unlikely to make up for this week's and next week's difference, UK has probably beat Japan for unit sales this year, but can it win for value with the recent fall in the £ x-rate? Famitsu data is the most important for this comparison, as ELSPA use Famitsu numbers, so any announcement by either party will be based on Chart-Track and Enterbrain figures.

Full Chart-Track 2008 annual report will be in January 23rd issue, but I expect we'll get the basic overall figures before then.
