Oh, rest assured, core-focused games can do well on the Wii; I'd hardly call Metroid Prime 3 or Resident Evil 4 failures, after all. The audience for them is much smaller than the mainstream audience, of course, but that's just a given with a Blue Ocean product.

The main thing you have to do is to not only make a good game, but make a good game which implements the Wii's unique control scheme in a way that actually benefits gameplay instead of just being a tacked-on feature that would be just as good or better with a traditional control setup. The other key thing is to make sure that you effectively advertise these games to the right sorts; sales for No More Heroes suffered a lot from a lack of awareness in the larger core community.
