So what about the N64 and Gamecube...Or any other system Nintendo has ever put out? Every system they've put out before the Wii has been comparably powerful to other systems. The GameCube was similar in scope to the PS2/Xbox. The N64 (despite the carts) was similar to the Saturn/PS1 in terms of performance.

But no one in their right mind would argue the same of the Wii versus the X360/PS3...Would they?

How can you justify Nintendo charging the same amount of money for the Wii as they did every other system but provide far less power?

 Again wow just wow...

If anything they should raise the price.

It is called supply and demand. The reason the Wii is selling out it because it is a fixed price that is below the equalibrium point. That is why it is one of the few items that sells for MORE in the after market.

Nintendo would be as stupid as the western devs to lower the price while the Wii is outselling the hd consoles combined.... Since the Wii has been launch it has outsold all HD consoel by around 2 million, or like a 53-55% market share. The only reason it has yet to reach 50% is the 1 year head start the 360 had.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
