Seriously, I have never understood why this was ever an issue, but I'm going to nip it in the bud this year.

Are you Muslim? Merry Christmas.
Are you Atheist? Merry Christmas.
The fact of the matter is, being religiously tolerant does not mean I have to kowtow to every single thing people observe. Heck, how would I even know what holiday that every single person I see on the streets celebrates? I celebrate Christmas, and so I'm going to wish people a Merry Christmas. It doesn't matter if you're Christian or not, I'll still extend the well wishes and cheer associated with my observance of the holiday.
And YOU can TOO! The only way for us to TRULY be politically correct is for EVERYONE to do this. Don't RESTRICT good cheer, just add your own good cheer to it. Wish me a happy hannukah or kuanza, or whatever the heck it is you celebrate, if you're Atheist just say "Happy Holidays", after all, you still get a holiday even if you don't celebrate anything.
