irstupid said: like what extra features, commentary? behind scenes? ect.
Edit: yes and I do have a PS3, but I get my blu ray movies through netflix in the mail. don't own a single blu ray movie. |
Who knows what kind of interactive experiances can be added with all that space. Also, there are plenty of people who watch extras in movies, that's why they are added and so many people by the two disc special edition. Also, it's worth to note that when first released DVDs had the same price tag that Blu Ray discs do now. It didn't stop DVD and it's foolish to think that it would stop Blu Ray. Just like with DVD the price of Blu Rays will reduce in price to compete with DVD as they become cheaper to publish.
Also, you might think netflix and online streaming will become the standard, but I for one do not. Many people prefer to buy the real thing and have it physically in their hands and DVD still makes billions dispite streaming. With your logic by the way, DVD shouldn't have become the standard due to VHS prices. I'm sure you could get a VHS in a bargain bin for a low price when the DVD was out. Didn't stop a thing. You know why, because people want the new thing, the better thing, even if they don't need it. We want the new car. The new clothes. The new game. The new everything. It's the way we are.
