I can't say anything about shoulder buttons, but every other feature listed was invented by someone else long before Nintendo even though of it. Yes, I'm even including having 4 controller ports built into a system, as well. And of those, only rumble is something that they may have used in video gaming first. Just because you aren't old enough/don't know enough about gaming doesn't mean Nintendo invented those things. They DID invent digital pads, but considering the current market and what existed before them it's almost fair to call it a step backwards on their part. 'Course, that was the brain child of Gunpei Yokoi who was fired for making the Virtual Boy... Nintendo doesn't cry about being ripped off because, well, you can't rip something off from someone when it wasn't theirs to begin with. |
Did you see me type invent anywhere? Hmm? No, because I know my history.
The anlog stick developed for Atari wasn't fully analog, it was still a digital interface that couldn't measure distance from center or full 360 degree rotation. It was basically a step up from the old joystick.
The technology used in the Rumble Pack was based loosely on other technology but was unique enough that Nintendo pattented it.
Motion detection was utilized by MS with the Sidewinder controller but that was a poorly done peripheral and not a default console feature. In fact Nintendo first began testing motion detection with Kirby in 2000 by using a built in chip in the game cartridge.
Care to explain how the D-pad was a step backwards from the joystick?
While the Atari 800 did have 4 controller ports, it was more a computer than a games console. Besides, I mentioned Mario Party for a reason in that either on their own were not a charge towards social gaming but combined they were.
As for your last statement, then so too should the same go for Sony but instead here they are with bunched up panties.
