I only buy systems that have enough games to equal the price tag. For the Wii at launch, it needed 5 games I wanted ($250/$50 = 5 games) and easily had that so I bought a Wii at launch. I didn't buy all those games, but I need to know that I can have some sort of selection.
For the Gamecube I did the same thing. At launch it didn't have the games I wanted so I waited until there were enough games. I don't really play brand loyalty too much (one of my friends thought I was actually a Sony fanboy because I had more PS2 games than anything else), I just go where the games are.
