The Wii can really end on anything between 150-200M. I'm personally thinking the lower end of that scale, but it is hard to tell. The Wii is expanding to a new audience, yes, but it does also not have the same core numbers as the Ps2 did, which should be proven by the fact that the Ps3 and X360 are selling far more than the GC/XB/DC. If you want a smaller range, 150-170M.
Ps3 should end at 40-65M really, but if you want a smaller range, I'd say 45-55M
X360 has about the same as the Ps3. I would say though, that it has a lower max total, but a higher certain. I'd say 45-55M pretty certainly for this one.
DS is huge. A bit hard to tell, but it should be at almost 130M by the end of 09. It seems obvious to me that it will sell 50M after that, with 80M as a ceiling. 180-210M
PsP is also a bit of an oddball. Should be at 53-55M by the end of 09, and then 20-30M after that. 75-85M
Total for the generation:
Consoles: 250-270M (last generation: 135+25+20+10 = ~ 190M
Handhelds: 250-280M (last generation: 79M = ~ 80M)
Milestones for each:
Wii - beats all consoles.
DS - beats all video-game machines. Possibly highest AR for a handheld
PsP - 2nd or 3rd best selling handheld ever (beating GBA - 79M, GB - 70-75M and GBC - ~ 40M)
Ps3/X360 - might beat SNES. Both will be best selling 2nd/3rd place. X360 will probably have highest AR for a video-game machine yet.
This generation of handhelds might > all previous generations combined.
