Wait... are you aware the PS3 is no longer Backward Compatible?
You can't play PS2 games on PS3 (unless you got an old 60gb version).
In others words, you can no longer find a PS3 on the market that wiil play PS2 games.

On the other side, Xbox 360 is backward compatible with 478 Xbox1 games.

The Backward Compatibility is now a strong Microsoft feature.
I think it was a bad move from Sony to cut costs by removing the PS2 hardware chip in the PS3.

I know you only like games with good graphics, but the PS1 library rocks! I just got Persona 2 and the Arc the Lad Collection as well as Lunar!

 

I have no XBOX games, so BC to that doesn't matter.

As mentioned, the PS3 does have BC to PS1.  Also, you can still easily get a PS3 with BC to PS2 from ebay.  I would prefer to get a used console then a PS3 without BC.
