I've been rooting for Sony as much as I could and still am, but as much as I hate to say it, I'm not seeing any particular point for Sony to turn things around.

Thing is, Wii has this cheap fun system that sucks in new gamers every second, and so their hardware is through the roof. Obviously developers were caught skeptical and flatfooted, but it's been 2 full years now. Developers finally have a chance to bring out some REAL games that are actually designed for the Wii, and not ported or half assed. 2009 is going to ROCK.

360 has an online community that basically turns your friends into a walking advertisement for their latest game, until you finally buy the game and become a walking advertisement along with them, just so you can play with/against them. I never even realized until today just how powerful of an effect that has on software sales. The rate at which games do better on 360 as opposed to PS3 only seem to be getting more pronounced with time.

PS3 has already come out with Little Big Planet, which was the one game I was looking at to REALLY differentiate itself from the 360. LBP sales are okay, actually pretty solid, but the impact on the PS3 itself seems almost... nonexistent.

Seriously, I HOPE PS3 manages to pull back up. I WANT to see it succeed, because I would like to eventually get an HD console (Just cause I don't care about not having heavy graphics doesn't mean i don't appreciate it when it's there) and LBP looks like a heck of alot of fun, and MGS is one of the few of the "gritty" games that I've gotten interested in, God of War has also caught my attention as well, and the media and blueray options aren't a bad little bonus. Plus then I'd have the PS3 controller that I'd be able to sync up to my laptop with bluetooth.
I just generally like the features PS3 has; standard harddrive(replaceable), bluetooth, bluray, slot drive, Wifi, accelerometer. The 360 feels like a really powerful last gen console with shiny graphics and a decent online service to me. I'm not even trying to diss the 360, that's just how I see it.

I'll still likely get the PS3 eventually, but right now, I'm uncertain how well developers will continue to support it. As long as I'm sure that decent games will at least end up ported to it, I'm fine, but with how much higher games seem to be selling on the 360, I'm worried that Microsoft will be able to pull a few solid multiplatform games into going exclusive for 360.
If this is the case, then I'd rather wait until the end of this console generation where I'll be able to get it for cheap, or possibly get the PS4 with backwards compatibility for the PS3. In the meantime, I'll get by with my Wii/DS/PC/PS2 combination.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!
