Have you ever looked at an awards nominations list before? They all come out about the time when many of the movies nominated on there have yet to come out in theaters (Think - No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Atonement).
I think there are a lot of strong movies on the list, and what are you expecting from the Golden Globes? They are the second (or third, or fourth) string in terms of what movie awards actually matter. I think your expectations are completely unreasonable. There were plenty of mediocre movies on last years nominee list.
And don't say a damn thing that is bad about Sean Penn. Milk looks like it is one of the best movies of the year by a mile.
