Yes, it was a problem but at that time in the console wars, quantity over quality seemed to win the day over. Today I don't see that formula as being successful due to a lot of factors -- instantaneous information availability being one of them. In my opinion (and it appears it's going downhill here for me), quantity over quality is going to do exactly the opposite in this generation... |
For me, I must agree that quality above quantity has always been the deal, sadly I can't belive that everyone belives the same. There is also a big difference in what we see as quality: I personally can't undrstand why someone would think it would be fun to buy a pet simialtor, but Nintendodogs seems to show that a lot of people find this fun.
Anyway that doesn't matter, even when Harry Potter, Transformers and more get shit reviews it sells a lot so I can't say that I think you are right. Of course every consol needs good solid titles, but I would say that Wii gets (if you live in USA) at least 7 of those the rest of the year. Sadly only two of them is 3rd party, Zak and Wiki (BUY IT, save point and click PLEASE) and GH3. Still I think Wii can survive two years of showeware but after that I do hope that some japanese studio have started to understand that it could be a good idea to support Wii (I don't have much faith in the western devs).

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!
