There was an article in this paper I read. Children (and people in general) play games that have main characters that they connect to, and feel they are alike (this is why children shouldn't be allowed to play games rated T or above... Sigh)
Newsflash:
The Wii owners of VGChartz feel similar to:
- An overweight, incredibly low, almost mute, high-pitched, plumber. He has no character traits at all really.
- A kokiri (changes from game to game, I know) who is completely lost. has no relatives and hardly knows anybody at all. Nobody has ever heard him talk.
- A supersized woman. If Mario is 150cm, Peach is at least 250cm, possibly as high as 350cm.
- A giant turtle like creature who for some odd reason is interested in a human woman. He has obviously lost all connection to reality.
