Gameboy Color game paks can be played on the original gameboy.

GBC wasn't really color. GB uses white(read green) and then three shades of grey, Most GBC games displayed 4 colors GBC's, but GBC games will work on GB at 3B1W.

EDIT: I may be wrong, but I think Wiki is.  I can't think of any GBC games that won't work on my original GB.
