I don't think that many people disliked the Gamecube 1st party games...the problem was more about 3rd party games...but I can see why people think the games weren't that great. I find Super Smash Bros Melee immensely superior to the first SSB game, even though both are fun, and some of my friends still prefer the first...mainly because they're better at it. Mario Sunshine was fun, but not groundbreaking like Mario 64. Mario Kart Double Dash is really fun, but again, Mario Kart 64 was a brand new experience and much more memorable. Mario Parties got dull after the third game. But with the Wii, I think we'll see great innovation and new experiences like with the greats of N64.
