The whole point of this thread is that the Wii passed the XBox 360 and was now #1. My point was , big whoop, the PS2 is still pulling further and further ahead of Xbox as well. And the PS2 is already 100 million ahead of any these guys. When you're outselling the PS2 80k vs 50k you cant just dismiss the PS2 just to so you can make claims for the Wii.
Call me nuts but it hasnt even been a year yet for PS3 or Wii so its hard to proclaim that the "king is back". And worldwide this Christmas till March will be the telling point. The PS2 will drop to $99 and the biggest games for Xbox & PS3 will be out. I think all the grannies/non gamers already got thier fill of the Wii and that the Wii could lose a lot of steam in 2008. yeah I went there, the Wii is a fad for casual gamers.
And the notion of putting the Wii and PS2 in the same class comes from them being in the NON HD class , while the XBox and PS3 are in the HD class. Thats I define generations. Leaps in technology, ie HD.

the only game out I have seen that doesn't have PS2/Xbox level graphics is Zelda. So its hard to say at this point that the Wii is some big generational leap and is going to sell at these levels for a long period of time.
HD is coming. HD TV's are going to sell like mad this holiday season.
oh well i have rambled long enough, congrats Wii you passed the 360!! Still a ways to go to catch the PS2 and it aint showing any signs of stopping yet.
