I think that would mean they are still a legitimate console thats still kicking and alive. If the Wii is counted as next gen because of its controls and not its graphics how is the PS2 not "next gen" if it has similiar graphics and offers the same type control scheme?? Software totals for THIS week had PS2 at 2x the sales of the Wii. and JohnSobas - "Why don't you compare current gen total sales to last gen sales and then tell us which gen it is." uhh thats my point the PS2 is still outselling the XBox360 and PS3 so how are you proclaiming that last gen is over?? The PS2 is not like XBox1, its still alive and selling well. Both hardware and software. and soriku - this isnt called trolling, its called making an on topic post. just because it points out the fallacy of this "Wii is #1 " crap doesnt mean I have done anything wrong. take your fear of the truth and hollow threats elsewhere |
Man, you're goin' nuts: the Gamecube was already way better than PS2...
Its power wasn't used at its best because it was not the dominant console on the market, and most 3rd party devs (always too lazy, as Wii owners still know too well) simply ported PS2 games to it, rather than make games build with the GC hardware in mind... when they did try, results were great, Resident Evil 4 was the best example...
But c'mon, are you SO in denial that you have to find such "arguments"?
If you want to compare Wii to PS2, then do it the right way, man: the PS2 was out seven f***in' years ago...
But hey, just to make yourself feel comfortable, let's say the PS2 and the Wii (and the DS, to choose a third racer in this case) were out the SAME week, and let's take a look at what the VGchartz graphic have to tell us about it:
http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=Wii®1=All&cons2=DS®2=All&cons3=PS2®3=All&align=1
Now, you can compare oranges to oranges, you see? Wii's the fastest selling console EVER, it should be time to admit it, and learn to live with it...
Every console has its strenghts, and weak points, but if you don't like the Wii, and the good times it has to offer to you, no problem, that's your choice... even if the logical choice for any "real" player would be to buy a PS3 or a 360, plus a Wii, to experience the best of both worlds, and most of the best games out there...
But quit trying to downplay the Wii by using silly arguments, it's rather pointless, and foolish...
