Ubisoft's US chief Laurent Detoc is apparently in no rush to see Assassin's Creed 2 released, the exec confident that making players wait a little longer will result in increased demand for the already much-anticipated third-person action title.

Chatting with Forbes, Detoc was asked why players weren't going to get their hands on a full sequel this year, the big cheese stating that "when we bring it back, there will be more anticipation for it."

Detoc, and Ubisoft in general, apparently hope to steer clear of annual releases, which they believe can harm quality.

"We just did Assassin’s and are sitting on top of the world, but we have to come back to reality very quickly because you’re only as good as your last product," the boss continued.

"Don’t drink the Kool-Aid too much; we’re going have to defend our position."

More on Assassin's Creed 2 as we get it.

Very good....I agree with no "release every year"....it does harm quality!
