Can you save a lot of money by switching or something?  I'd just stick with what you have...you've paid for it and all...

Also, just because I see it so much....1080p is fine in screens less than 46" - it's all about your viewing distance.

It's like saying no one should buy computer screens that have more than 1280x720 resolution because they are all under forty inches...

It's not really about the size, but if you have all your pictures in a 100*100 resolution, and your screen is 250*250, then why have that screen if you could have a just as good screen with the lower resolution, where your pictures would look better?

I don't use it for a computer screen btw.

Well, yeah I assumed you don't use it for a computer screen.  I was just making a point.

You may not have any 1080p content at the moment, but what if you sell your current tv and buy a lower res one to save some money, and down the road get high def movies either on blu-ray or through downloads?

Saving some money vs. having what will probably be the standard resolution for most tv's for years to come, I guess is what you're considering here.

Keep in mind also that even though 720p native displays can display 1080i, they downscale those images a little bit to fit the 720 lines that the tv has.

Actually, I'm just annoyed at jaggies. And I have too much money to be considering this.

And high-res movies from download would be a ways from being standard 1080p.

And blu-ray still looks good on a 720p TV. And I am only sitting ~6 feet from my TV (what my room allows for)

But looking back, I think I had one of my wierd moments as the jaggies are hardly worth it xP
