The word "Revolution" appealed to me - i.e. a core Nintendo fan. It did not appeal to Nintendo's expanded market. The name was changed so that the correct market would be targeted - indeed I think the name Wii was a large factor in the success of Gamecube+1.

Oh, and I've grown to like the name Wii. A console still called Revolution would have been better for my demographic though...
