Because it is more accurate, not to mention that you can use centered crosshair. It is quite amusing that some people actually consider holding a plastic thingy being closer to shooting an actual gun. Oh please. :)

Uh... it is. Don't try to argue that holding and physically aiming your 'gun' isn't closer to the real thing than turning it with an analog stick. It's a self-defeating argument.
@Kyros: you obviously haven't played much outside of Red Steel. In most games, not only do you just have to aim slightly off-center to turn, but you can usually ADJUST this. Fail.
