These expectations are from Sony Fanboys, and from people who want the game to look like a failure, so they will make expectations for any game seem extremely high so that it can't "meet expectations", Anti-PS3 people's favorite word to make any accomplishment look lackluster.
Look at LBP. 1 million in five weeks and somehow that's horrible. In a world where games can be on the market for a year and not move a million units, a new IP sells that and it's overlooked because it didn't move 5 or 10 million units.
The same thing is going to happen with KZ2. It will be crucified no matter if it sells 100k units in one week or 1.1 million units in one week. It will apparently be "below expectations", and we should all be sad about it.
Well, I'm learning my lessons from the LBP fiasco. I'm just going to enjoy the game, and let the haters argue while I'm having fun. |
That's the useful thing about having prediction/expectation threads. One can sometimes actually prove that expectations were truly high.

But even in those threads, people don't focus on the majority of predicitons that make sense and were in line with sales and the more outlandish ones. Like LBP, most people predicted first week sales of 500k, which it got very close to or passed depending on how you count sales, but people decided to focus on the people who said it'd sell 1.5 million week one and things like that. No matter how close you are, or predict to actual sales, it will never be at expectations or above, it will be below, even when you can have a thread that proves your point. Cause then the excuse is "ZOMG DA HYPE FOR THIS WAS HI, IT ZHOULD HV SOLD MOAR". You can never win sometimes.
