How 'bout we rate games on how good they are. That is why IGN reviews say that the final review score is not an average.
- If the game looks so good you forget about everything else
- If the story is so good you enjoy it more
- If the art style is so good that it makes the game better
- If the controls are so tight that it makes it more fun
- Is it so polished that it makes a difference
These are reasons to raise a score beyond the average. No reviews took off points for a PS2 game not looking as good as a Xbox game. I don't think the sites are biased against Nintendo as a company, I just think they are scared that the casual influx is going to ruin their gig and that they genuinely don't like the Wii. I love the Wii, I don't have 8+ hours a day to play games any more so the "novelty" still hasn't worn off (I don't think it will).
