Hardcore gamer is a term nerds created because they can't go out and get laid due to either lack of social skills or appearance, so to help make themselves deal with that reality a little easier, they classify the,selves in this category.
I myself am a gamer. I enjoy playing good games (which is why I own all 3 systems) that are either fun, challenge me or that I just like for whatever reason.
Anyone who classifies all Wii owners as Casual gamers is an idiot plain and simple.
