When?
From 2007 (Jan through November) to 2008 (same period) the X360 has seen (will have when Japan is in) a 38% increase
However you may be right about PS3... but I don't think it will manage it, the reason it did so well this year is it was carrying good momentum through Christmas.... so it was the better selling of the two HDs until Microsoft put a stop to it in the last few months.
Next year MS will have had the Christmas momentum, and considerably more than Sony, so the 360 will be slowing the PS3s start to the year. If Sony don't do something about it then I would be suprised if the PS3 managed over 32.5 million.... A good price cut in the right place with the right advertising (like X360 has now) could push many PS3s.... but the best time for cuts like that is just before Christmas, which won't have helped them through the main years sales.
