Ironically, buying a machine that is cheaper than it costs to make would actually be a lot better for the (global) economy overall, even though its bad for the company making it.

 

But wait...the Wii prints you money while the PS3 eats your money. So how can that be? :)

The eaten money goes to help the industries of the 3rd world, and places like Africa where they mine rare ores for semiconductors, in awful conditions.  The printed money goes to Ninty's pocket. =)  Okay, okay... the eaten money goes to the less-than-moral people running the 3rd world industries, but... at least its a bunch of amoral folks, rather than just a couple.
