Rougly how many sales are needed to break even on a high budget game?

You make it sound like that's a good thing...

Sure it seems great, however if Microsoft/Epic can make Gears for 10 million and Sony need 60 million for Killzone you can easily figure out who's more successfull. And more money means more means to invest in new games.

You can be sure that Konami won't ever do something like MGS 4 exclusive again.

I love when devs take their time to make games better. Thats why many don't anticipate for R2 and Gears 2 and countless other games which are released every 2 years as much as likes of GT5, KZ2, MGS4, GTA4, HALO3, TRICO, ZELDA, RESIDENT EVIL 5, and FINAL FANTASY.

So for me and many others quality is important and we don't care if R2 outsell KZ2, it will not make it better FPS.
