Is the Xbox360 region free?

the 360 isnt, but some games are. you have to google for the games with compatibility.

Note: Games sold in and intended for use in Germany are very likely to be region-locked even though other PAL-country versions of the same game are not. If your PAL-format game does not work on NTSC/UC or NTSC/J region Xbox 360s, please be absolutely sure that your game is not the German version before reporting that fact.

 

(but this should only be necessary for german games, not consoles.)
