I know three people who own a Wii, one of which uses it primarily because its the only console he owns (it is his kids' console though, birthday present). The other two own 360's and one of them a DS as well, the latter is used the most by her and the other guy plays mostly coop games on the 360 with me and another buddy.
I know (like you said) that this is anecdotal, and evidence is there to support that most Wii owners are in fact adults.
Anyway, my region/country is one of those that hasn't really embraced it the way many others have so it is in no way representative of the world at large imo.
