So that all those games rated at 89% will forever hold the shame of being almost AAA game
/sarcasm
How can you say a game rated 84% is better then a game rated 85%?? I'm surprised so many people are picking 100% considering all the complaints with the review system. |
Ok, if gears got a 5/5 from a stie but they really wanted to give it say 92% and if that same site gave resistance a 4/5 but really wanted to give it 89% isn't that kinda unfair in many different ways?
5/5 is 100, 4/5 is only 80, its just not right
Percentages all the way for me

If Gears got a 92 but they really wanted to give it a 91.5, and Resistance got a 91 but they really wanted to give it a 91.4.

It has nothing to do with fairness (and for your info... if you are aligning 5/5 as the top 5th, then the 4-5 split would be 80%.... so even though there should not be such conversions done.... both 89 and 92% would be 5/5) The simple matter is that the score is not there to compare it to other games.... the score is there to tell you if you need to read the review or not... the review content is what should be compared.

The one subject i excell in is maths, if a game gets 91% its a 5/5, if it gets 89% its 4/5, if it gets 90 then the reviewer is screwed lol.

Except you have changed it to a 6 point scale in doing so.
in your version you aredoing mathematical rounding..... so 91 would be rounded up to 100, which is the same as 5/5 in mathematical terms yes.
similarly 89 would be rounded down to 80, which is 4/5 (read as 4 "over" 5 instead of "out of")..... but what then would a score of 9% be.... surely it would be rounded down to 0/5.... except we are using a 5 point scale which doesn't have a 0/5 in it.
I also know my maths
but this doesn't involve maths because it is an opinion based reflection of how close a game is to horrid, or amazing..... so a 5 point scale would not be stretched so that the top (5/5) is 100 and the bottom (1/5) is 0. It would involve ranges:
1/5 = 0-20
2/5 = 20-40
etc
