The longterm effect that would have on the people who missed out on the rebate would be the opposite of what a discount is suppose to have. It might be better than nothing and they might be feeling pressured to cut the price right now, but why ruin it with a mail-in deal. anyone who doesn't know how to do a rebate is a moron. It's a very common practice with electronics and things that require maintenance (Car work)... (paperwork and hoops?Like taking the UPC off the box as proof of purchase and filling out your addresss... ohhh so hard)
