sad days for my PS3, but then I never brought into the hype that the PS3 woul dof caught the Xbox 360.
I watched a kid ask his Mum for a PS3 to play Call of Duty 5, and the shop owner said to the parent,
WHY WASTE TWICE YOUR MONEY ON A PS3, WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THE 360 AT HALF THE PRICE?..
the kid wasn't bothered, he just wanted to play the game, and the Mother saved £140.
these are the times we are living when nobody cares about what Bluray or the Cell can do. they only want value for money. which I have to agree the PS3 isn't.

The PS3 is still good value for those who want an entertainment center with Blu-Ray. The problem is that most of the people who fall in this category probably already have a PS3 or a standalone Blu-Ray player.

Only barely...  and this is part of why the PS3 is failing to gain momentum.  Aracde + Magnavox Blu Ray = $330.00.  Yep, neither are "top of the line", but the point is the value proposition is eroding fast as Blu-Ray prices drop.

Most people don't compare the arcade price to the ps3, only MSFT does this in advertising.  Their arcade unit is directedto compete with the Wii and their pro and elite units are designed to compete with the 80gb/160gb ps3.  This entire topic has been beat to death but I think most can agree that both systems are comparably priced to one another with respect to the features each unit has.  One unit is just more flexible with pricing than the other and sparks interest in those who are looking for a cheapoption or do not have a HDTV for use with blu-ray.  like it or not, that is the situation.
