The big problem comparing the Wiimote with the Eyetoy is development resources :P Ever person to develop on the Wii, and the ENTIRETY of Nintendo has focused on creating something that works with the Wiimote. Only a small group of employees at Sony, and a few other people... like... ever... have ever created something for the Eyetoy :P It's more of an add-on than part of the actual console.
Some version of the eyetoy might be included with every PS4, and in which case we'll have to see where the tech's gone :P But until then, the Wiimote just has so much more in terms of dev resources :)
