Do you mean the DS game "The Fallen King" or the HD one? Either one I could see working for though. "The Fallen King" kinda looks like a rip-off of the Cell-shaded portion of the Zelda series so it looks like it would work.
Regarding the story: there's only one instance when I'll accept Nintendo trying to make the story something more epic, if they get a total overhaul in their screenwriting department, the ones they have now just don't cut it. Better yet, don't bother. I play Zelda for epic gameplay, and it's what all Nintendo games are!
