Yes it would fit quite well but I'd like to see a similar style from TP to move into the Zelda Wii. The realistic approach worked quite well for the series as it did in OOT and MM.
As for story changes, absolutely not. It's a story that is continuously repeated because of the triforce. What I'm waiting for is a pivotal moment in the franchise where that set breaks because of something that happens. We saw it slightly break after the end of OOT which is why Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were darker. But I'm waiting for a complete collapse in the central story. That would be a story change that goes along with what ya say but it still sticks to the main story.
