Shields good, but you can get shoved away by shielding, which lowers the ability to punish. Trying to block with a long range move, jumping out of the way, or simply walking (not dashing as pivoting takes longer to reutn) away can sometimes be better options.
That said... I think the shield breaking was a surefire way to say: I shield too much!
Oh... and that middle little movie thing on your sig is just nasty
