Well yes.. they rather choose to piss of the users then the company's that can sue them for millions... I would do the same.. "Tribute" is still violating someone elses intellectual property.. Without permission the owner of the ip can sue at any time.. Or get fines from Music Company's. Sony & MM is not willing to risk that and they are right about that..
Or they must pay for the use of the ip.. which they are not also willing to cause for example even a snippet of music costs $.08 for songs five minutes or less in length.. but you have to pay that every time the level is played..
it sucks.. but Sony & MM is right to moderate this much..
