The basic only difference between the two systems hardware is the cell and the blu-ray drive. Any PC gamer or designer knows that any game can be handled easily with at least a dual core CPU at 2.4GHz or higher. Seeing as the 360's is a tri-core 3.2GHz CPU, I don't see it having any issue with a game being too CPU intensive. Now, granted the Cell is a great CPU, but no better than that of many PC components and really was a downside for Sony as the newer architecture and the added "power" makes it a pain to code for. Sure, they are getting closer to understanding and using it to its max, but then the limiting factor becomes the GPU which is basically equal to that of the Xbox 360 GPU, thus rendering their graphics capabilities almost equal. The PS3 could theoretically pull off something slightly better than the 360's maximum graphics capabilities, but I do not think it would be enough to make a big difference for the average gamer.
