In reality the gap between 360 and PS3 has already gotten 3 million smaller, this at a much higher entry pricing for the PS3 and most of its most anticipated games yet to come. Meanwhile the 360 is selling at a similar price as when the original XBox was taken off the market and all major XBox games already saw sequels on the 360.

The PS3 is set to overtake 360 sales soon enough. In the past I anticipated this to happen for 2009 and I think I'll stick to that.

Not going to happen.  That's called being "overly optimistic."

For anyone to expect the gap to NOT decrease would be rediculous.  It was the newer system, and the BD player everyone wanted.  However, with more and more options coming into the market, such as HD streaming, and BD adoption being slower than DVD was, and with stand along player prices dropping, the PS3 will lose some steam.

Also, I'm tired of you claiming that the Xbox 360 has no great games coming!  Just because it wasn't a sequal to an Xbox game, doesn't mean it won't be a hit, plus there are all those multi-platform games that the majority sell better on the Xbox 360.  There are countless big titles coming for the 360, plus many more titles I am sure will be announced.  Also, people seem to forget that FFXIII is coming to the 360 now as well, and mark my words, in America it will sell more copies on the 360 than on the PS3.

All the PS3 has is a much delayed GT5, Killzone 2, and God of War 3 as their known much anticipated sequals.  Which I highly doubt will be enough to spur sales the rate they would need to overcome the 360 in 2009.

Oh, and I guarantee that if the PS3 price drops, and it does impact sales a great deal, Microsoft will put out another price cut, clear and simple.  They can afford it, Sony can't.
