There's the question of which system will sell the most world wide in 2008.

The PS3 will overtake the 360 simply because it will have a longer lifespan the 360. Most likely by 2-3 years.

The PS3 will only be Sony's top console until 2012 or so when Sony releases the next one.  MS will probably release one in the same year, or a year earlier.  The PS3 probably won't enjoy a 10 year life cycle like the PSX and PS2 did because of its cost to Sony -- it is too costly and isn't enjoying the succcess of the PS2 and PSX which allowed them to be very profitable even when they were obsolete.
