8.5 Presentation
One of the game's higher points. FaceBreaker is high on style, from the opening IR interface, the in-game models and movements, the VO, music, and arena designs.
8.0 Graphics
The models look sharp and polished, there's a lot of effects animation, reflection, and lighting effects. Models deform as the fights go on as well. Nice.
7.5 Sound
Some impressive music is mixed with appropriate boxing/fighting sound effects. The voice acting is "love it or hate it", but grew on us over time.
6.0 Gameplay
Not bad for a mindless party game, but it comes up way short in the balance department. Button mashing is the norm, super punches are overpowered, and fast speed makes counters tough.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
You get a few local multiplayer modes, a short arcade offering, but no online. Added light gun "get up" mini-game is interesting, but obviously a rushed throw-in. Basic, but fun in bursts.
7.0
