I haven't read the rest of the thread to see if it was said, but I think that the locust queen was saying at the end that the locust lived on, but not the locust that they intended survives, which leads me to believe that the lambent locust survived while the normal perished (which would make sense, as lambent were exiled from the hollow, and so would go up to ground).
