Wait till you get to the end of chapter 9.... the boss will seriously piss you off (Alma).
I'm stuck on her again, I don't even know how I passed this part of the game when I played Black, but I've died a lot agaisnt her already lol
Also, have you faced the spider ninjas yet if you're in chapter 5? I can't remember if they start in 5 or 6 but those guys are the first tough (NG tough) enemies in the game.
